“Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine, and at last, you create what you will.” ― George Bernard Shaw.

An imagination is an incredible gift that we have all been given, but it is up to us to develop this gift and use it to its fullest potential. Our imagination does not come with an age limit, therefore we cannot outgrow it. We can however neglect to use it. In the work place and sometimes in the classroom there is so much focus placed on knowledge that we forget to make use of our imaginations.

“The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.” — Albert Einstein.

I believe that when we pair knowledge with imagination we have the makings for magnificence. Our mind has both a logical and a creative side. The creative side is where our imagination resides. When we use both sides of our minds (logical and creative) together we can achieve so much more. Take for example problem solving, if we try to solve a problem by using only our intellect we could experience difficulty, but when we add our imaginations to the mix, we are able to visualize different scenarios and come up with a solution to the problem.

Without our imaginations we could not create things. Every glorious piece of art, literary work and so much more is born out of our imaginations.

“Imagination creates reality.” ― Richard Wagner.

Our imaginations are powerful and limitless. Our imaginations can help us to relax, increase our confidence, improve our memory and be creative. There is so much we can do if we just imagine.

“You have all the reason in the world to achieve your grandest dreams. Imagination plus innovation equals realization.” ― Denis Waitley.

From the very beginning of time, human beings have been inventing all kinds of things. The light bulb, the telephone, the airplane and so on, would never have been made possible without the use of the imagination.

“What is now proved was once only imagined.” ― William Blake.

Sadly, technology has caused mankind to lose touch with their imaginations. We look for answers through the touch of a button. With the wide availability of movies, television programs and computer games we tend to read less. We are being spoon fed information and as a result we are using much less of our imaginations.

“The man who has no imagination has no wings.” ― Muhammad Ali.

Children today are missing out on so much by not using their imaginations to its fullest potential.

“Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning.” ― Gloria Steinem.

As a children’s author my imagination is my most valuable tool. By using my imagination I am able to create delightful characters and take them on wonderful adventures. These story characters can go anywhere and do anything just by the use of my imagination.

“If you fall in love with the imagination, you understand that it is a free spirit. It will go anywhere, and it can do anything.” ― Alice Walker.

By writing children’s books I am using my imagination to help children discover theirs. All my stories entertain, encourage and empower little lives whilst awakening their imaginations.

“The imagination is the golden pathway to everywhere.” ― Terence McKenna.

I have written two books that highlight the amazing power of the imagination. The ‘Imag-hen-ation’ and ‘Superpower: IMAGINATION’ stories show children the benefits of the imagination.

“To bring anything into your life, imagine that it’s already there.” ― Richard Bach.

Imag-hen-ation’ is about Tilly the hen who uses her mind to imagine things. The story shows how using your imagination can provide new ideas, and help with solving problems, planning ahead and telling stories.

Playing with words is part of the fun and in this book the words ‘imagination’ and ‘hen’ have been put together to make a playful word ‘Imag-hen-ation’ – which means the wonderful mind of a hen.

“When you use your imagination, anything is possible!” – Tilly the hen (Imag-hen-ation).

Superpower: IMAGINATION. A Book with Pictures Only You Can See. How can it have pictures that only you can see? The answer is simple, it is because you create the pictures with your imagination. Divided into three convenient parts for ease of reading, this story is specially designed to set the scene while you breathe life into its words inside your head, bringing forth dashes of colour, fantastical adventures, and the incredible world of make-believe. Every time you open the book you’ll find a different and uniquely wonderful experience as it develops your imagination and ignites your mind.
