About Jacqui

Jacqui Shepherd, children’s author, was born in Zimbabwe, started her schooling years in England and now resides in South Africa. As a child she loved Winnie the Pooh stories and books by Dr Seuss. She is a big Roald Dahl fan. Jacqui inherited her storytelling talent from her father and first began creating her own stories to amuse her four children. Although Jacqui’s children are now grown up and making their own way in the world, they remain her inspiration. Besides being entertaining, many of Jacqui’s stories have important lessons, which help to instil values and attitudes that help children in their daily lives. Jacqui believes that it is important to read to a child and to teach a child to love reading.

She is in full agreement with the famous Dr Seuss quote:

You are never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child.
